Spring Newsletter 2024

Sprint Newsletter 2024

And so we say goodbye to the Spring Term, the first term of Co-op Academy Medlock. It has been a really positive experience and I would like to thank all of the children for their hard work and clever questions. First of many brilliant terms I am sure!

A special mention to year 5. You may have seen on social media that they have been making important contacts in the city! As part of their sustainability project they wrote to Andy Burnham (our Mayor) about a range of environmental issues. As a result Andy Burnham has said that he will visit Co-op Academy Medlock to see their concerns about traffic and the knock on problems around air pollution for himself. Well Done Year 5. It is not an easy thing to get the attention of policy makers. Keep it up. Maybe we’ll see some of you in positions of authority before too long!

If you haven’t yet followed us on social media, please do. We now have active feeds on Facebook and Twitter (X). Please encourage grandparents, uncles and aunties to follow us as well. Hopefully they will get to share in your childrens’ adventures in the very near future, even if it is just by liking a picture!

Can I end by wishing you all good luck for the coming holiday. I hope that for those families who celebrate Ramadan and Eid you are able to share quality time with friends and family and that for those that celebrate Easter you also are able to connect with those of people who mean the most to you.  However you celebrate, have a blessed time.

Children, please also remember to keep your reading practise up!

 Notices -

  • Please download the Arbor App. All payments and permissions will be requested through this platform from this point forward. You can of course log into your account via the Arbor website if you would prefer not to use the app but the office is unable to process payments or give permissions on your behalf.

  • Please remember that children need a PE kit to keep them safe. The wrong clothes can cause injury. It is really important that all children have their PE kit on the appropriate day.

  • Polite request from our neighbours. We have had a number of complaints stating that families have blocked driveways at home time. Please park considerately if you have to drive. I know parking is a problem but it is not one that is going away and we would encourage all  families to walk to and from school wherever this is possible.

  • Congratulations to our new Site Manager - Well Done Mr Ellison. Feel free to congratulate him on his promotion!
